Empowered Youth

The Mead Family Foundation mission stems from an understanding that groundwork laid with today’s youth will impact the course of their lives and those of generations to come. Empowering youth with the skills and information they need to create the future they want helps to give every child the chance to succeed.

To be empowered is to acknowledge that you have the power to take action to better your quality of life, both on an individual level and a community level. To develop this mindset in youth, they must be given opportunities to learn, grow, make decisions, take risks, and even fail. When youth engage in activities where they can lead, learn new skills, and practice shared decision making, they are building their confidence and sense of responsibility.

The Mead Family Foundation supports organizations working to empower the youth in our communities. More information on the exceptional work being done by grantees is outlined here.
